Core / Human Capital Factors
Maximum 500 without an accompanying spouse, 460 with one
Answer no if your spouse is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, or if they will not be coming with you.
Use your age on the day you submit your profile, or the day you receive an invitation.
Education completed outside Canada must have a valid Educational Credential Assessment before it can be claimed.
Choose the language of your stronger test result. Your second official language is then the other one.
Enter each ability separately. CRS scores speaking, listening, reading and writing individually. Do not enter your lowest score in all four boxes.
Leave these as no valid test unless you hold a second language test that is still valid.
Authorized skilled work in Canada in the last 10 years. Self-employment and work done while studying full-time generally does not count.
Spouse / Common-Law Partner Factors
Maximum 40 points
Spouse's first official language: maximum 5 points per ability.
Skill Transferability
Maximum 100 points
Skilled work outside Canada in the last 10 years.
This is issued by a Canadian province, territory or federal body after an assessment. A trade certificate from another country is not the same thing.
Additional Points
Maximum 600 points
CRS job-offer points were removed on March 25, 2025, so job offers are not scored here.
The credential must be from a Canadian institution. English or French language programs do not count.
Brother or sister only, including half and step siblings. They must live in Canada, be a citizen or permanent resident, and be 18 or older. Cousins do not count.
Only answer yes after you have received and accepted the nomination. An application in progress does not count.
These points are worked out automatically from your language answers above. There is no separate question. Strong French across all four abilities earns a bonus, and that bonus is larger if you also have qualifying English results.
